Party weekend and end of an era...

Moving on to India is starting to feel very real, and it has given me cause to reflect on the time we have spent here in Texas.  I really can't believe that it's been 7 whole years since we moved to Houston.  It has been such a special time in our lives, in part, I'm sure because it has been the formative years of our young family.  But also because we have genuinely made some of the best friends you could possibly ever want.  I don't know whether it's the shared expat experience (because many of these friends are also expats), the stages in our lives (bonding over parenting angst), or the fact that they are just bloody brilliant people, but I can honestly say the friendships we have forged in our time in America will transcend time and distance. When we first arrived in Houston I was determined to make friends, and I set up a playgroup called Cheeky Monkeys.  Over the years we've had a consistent group of hardcore Cheeky Mummies, and many, many, wonderful p...

I'm going to preface this blog post with some excerpts from a fellow amateur 'blogger'... my old school friend, Rebecca.  In response to today's ridiculous Daily Fail hoo-ha about Slummy Mummy Bloggers she had the following to say: OK, the word “blog” sends many people running for the hills. Having a gin or two, or going out on the raz – they’re all a means with which to recalibrate. And I’m sorry – everyone needs to recalibrate sometimes. When you don’t, that’s when the problems start. Wanderlust... a travel wishlist for exploring Pune

One of the biggest reasons we are excited about our upcoming move to Pune is that we love to travel and explore new places. In our time in the USA, we have made a point of exploring the region as much as time (and our budget) has allowed! With that in mind, I am already thinking ahead and creating a wish list of places to visit. I thought I would start locally and come up with a list of places close to Pune. See the map below - you can click on the stars to see more information about each place. Hopefully you will see blogs, videos, and photo galleries documenting our visits to these places in the coming months.
